Same water, different houses
Wherever you are in our area, your water comes from Bristol Water and your sewerage is handled by Wessex Water. Bristol Water classes its supply as moderately hard to very hard, so limescale in taps, cisterns and appliance valves is a common problem across the patch.
The houses vary more. They range from stone cottages in Brislington’s conservation area, to interwar council estates in Knowle and St Anne’s, to 1960s homes in Stockwood and new builds. A home built before the 1970s could have lead pipework, according to Bristol Water. If you’re not sure about yours, we can look while we’re there.
Getting to you
Brislington sits on the south-east side of Bristol, close to the A4 Bath Road, which makes it a practical base for both the city and the towns and villages between Bristol and Bath. Arnos Vale, Knowle, Totterdown and St Anne’s are all within a couple of miles. Keynsham is about three miles to the south-east, Hanham and Kingswood are a similar distance to the north-east, and Bedminster and Southville are just across the river to the west.
Further out, our area reaches places like Saltford, Bitton, Downend, Long Ashton and Chew Magna, and as far as Bath, Yate and Nailsea at around nine miles. We don’t cover Clevedon, Portishead or Thornbury, which sit beyond our ten-mile radius.
