Plumbing and drains, nothing else

We keep our work to what we do every day: leaks, burst pipes, blocked drains, toilets, taps, pipework, and plumbing in appliances, bathrooms and kitchens. We don’t take on gas, boiler or electrical work. When a job needs one of those trades, we’ll tell you straight away rather than send someone who shouldn’t be doing it.

How we work

• We pick up 24/7. Night, weekend or bank holiday, call the same number.
• We tell you what we think it is before we start and talk through the cost with you.
• We’ll say when a job isn’t ours. That might be a shared sewer problem for Wessex Water, a leak on the water company’s side of the stop tap, or a gas issue for a Gas Safe engineer.
• We look at the cause, not just the symptom. We’ll tell you if there’s limescale in the valves, an old lead run, or a drain that keeps silting up.

Why plumbing only?

A lot of plumbing firms also take on heating, boilers and gas. We’ve chosen not to. That keeps us focused on the problems we deal with every day: water getting where it shouldn’t, water not getting where it should, and drains that won’t drain. It also means that when we’re on the phone with you, we can be straight about whether your problem is one we should be fixing at all.

Gas work in the UK legally needs a Gas Safe registered engineer, and electrical work in your home has its own rules too. If your bathroom refit or kitchen move needs a gas or electrical trade, we’re happy to do the plumbing side and leave those parts to them.

Plumbing in an area of mixed homes

Within our area you’ll find almost every kind of British house. There are stone cottages around Brislington’s old village and interwar council estates in Knowle and St Anne’s. There are post-war and 1960s homes in Stockwood, flats right across the city, and new builds going up. Each era comes with its own plumbing: old lead supply pipes, iron and copper mixed with plastic from later repairs, and drains laid long before anyone imagined today’s kitchens and bathrooms. That variety is a big part of the job, and it’s why we look at what’s around a leak, not just the leak itself.
